Anonymous asked: Hi! Love this blog, first of all. Would you possibly mind explaining what 'poetic plurals' are? Or is there a beginners' website where I can find out? :)
Salve! Welcome! Poetic plurals are when a poet puts a word in the plural because he thinks it looks, sounds, or feels better, but you still translate it as if it’s singular.

Puff-V verbs are verbs that take the ablative - it’s a mnemonic.
Potior, Utor, Fruror, Fungor, Vescor
Anonymous asked: A confused question - is being given a "Latin name" for Latin class common practice in the USA? I've never heard of it being done, but everyone on tumblr seems to have had one? What a strange notion!
It’s fairly common in other language classes - Spanish, French, Chinese, Hebrew… I think many Latin students just felt a little left out, especially if they go to a school that teaches more than one language. Are you from the US?
